OLD PALMERIANS'

ASSOCIATION

For alumni of Palmers Boys School, Palmers Girls School and Palmers College

Who are we?

To quote C.W. Silverwood from the first edition of The Palmerian (available below) in November 1912, the Association exists "To facilitate the continuance of old schoolday friendships, and to draw all Old Palmerians together with a common bond connecting them with the school."

The Palmers' Old Boys' Club was established at a meeting held on the 19th June 1908, with a membership of 25.

Whilst the name and membership criteria has changed to encompass all Old Palmerians, nearly 120 years later, and with a membership of around 500, the ideals remain the same.

The merger of Palmers College with SEEVIC to form USP Collge in 2017 has lead to less visibility of the Palmers name, but the Palmers Trust is still very much active and supporting both the college and the wider education community and anyone who studied, taught or worked at a Palmers school or campus is eligible to join the Association.

Association Archives

We are in the process of cataloguing and digitising the archives we hold with a view to making them available and searchable to members. This is a work in progress, but a random selection of documents will be presented here until such a time as a fuller archive is ready.
